The French and German governments have officially banned the usage of the mobile messenger by their services. Even if the communications are encrypted end-to-end, some of the BlackBerry servers that handle email traffic are located in the U.S. and U.K.

In fact, the decision seems quite obvious when speaking of communications that deal with national security.
